Buckwheat Muffins (Sugar-free, Dairy-free)

If you follow me on Instagram you'll know I love buckwheat. You'll know more about me of course, but the buckwheat obsession shines through my recipes lol. And you'll know I like easy, simple recipes. Good food.

Buckwheat is a pseudo grain, and although it's too filling, I prefer it over wheat (which I don't eat the last couple of years). I love it and I try to replace many wheat recipes with it. I have a list of recipes I transform using buckwheat so we never get bored.

Here's what you need for this delicious treat:


  • 1 cup wholegrain flour
  • 1 cup buckwheat flour
  • 1 cup of raisins or dry cranberries
  • 2 oranges (juice)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs


  1. Mix everything together in a bowl until fully incorporated and you have a medium batter.
  2. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  3. Butter muffin pans/cups.
  4. Fill cups 2/3 full.
  5. Bake for 20'-25'.
  6. Add toppings of your choice.


- There's no added sugar of any form. Although they're delicious without sugar (because of the raisins and the nutty buckwheat flavour), you might want to add some jam or honey when served. 

Great snack to eat after your workout. Add some nut butter and eat away!
